Bacon Ribs! Now this is something else!

While bacon is typically made from pork belly, there is a cut of meat called pork ribs that can be prepared with a bacon-like flavor. These are commonly referred to as “bacon ribs” or “pork ribs with bacon.” They are essentially pork ribs that have been seasoned or wrapped with bacon to enhance their flavor and add richness.

To prepare bacon ribs, you can use pork spare ribs or baby back ribs. Here’s a simple recipe

First! Open a good cold beer! Taste it! Wait 1 minute and then get on with the work.

Ingredients:

  • Pork spare ribs or baby back ribs
  • Bacon slices
  • Barbecue sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven or grill to a medium-high heat.

  2. Season the ribs with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. If using pork spare ribs, cut them into individual rib portions.

  4. Take bacon slices and wrap them around each rib, covering as much surface area as possible. Use toothpicks to secure the bacon if needed.

  5. Place the bacon-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet or grill grates.

  6. If using an oven, bake the ribs for about 2-3 hours at 275°F (135°C) until they are tender and the bacon is crispy.

  7. If using a grill, place the ribs on the grill grates and cook for about 1-1.5 hours, rotating occasionally, until the ribs are tender and the bacon is crispy. You can also brush them with barbecue sauce during the last 10 minutes of grilling if desired.

  8. Once cooked, remove the bacon ribs from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Bacon ribs can be served as a delicious and flavorful main dish alongside your favorite side dishes. Enjoy the smoky and savory combination of bacon and ribs in this unique preparation!
