Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Cups – Or how to impress everyone

Easy to prepare and perfect for enjoying the delightful flavours of bacon cooked in the oven. Whether you’re looking for a savoury side dish or a satisfying breakfast option, just try it out. Here is what you need for these Breakfast Cups.

Ingredients:

  • Slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • Bacon slices (precooked or partially cooked)
  • Eggs (1 egg per cup)
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a muffin tin or use muffin liners for easy cleanup.
  • Cut the crusts off the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin. Press one slice of bread into each muffin cup to form a cup shape.
  • Line the inside of each bread cup with a bacon slice, forming a ring around the edges.
  • Crack one egg into each bread cup, making sure the yolk is centered. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the eggs and bacon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the egg whites are set and the yolks are still slightly runny (adjust the baking time if you prefer a firmer yolk).
  • Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley before serving.
