Experiment! Tzatziki Greek style burger

You know you have to try a lot of things, and this might just be the thing you have to try to elevate your burger cooking skills and tastes. Here is our version of the Greek style burger with Tzatziki.

Your list:

Ingredients: For the Tzatziki Sauce:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed to remove excess moisture
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burger:

  • 1 pound ground beef (or your preferred protein)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Refrigerate the tzatziki sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped red onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the burgers tough.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties of your desired size.
  4. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred level of doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare your burger buns by toasting them if desired.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a generous amount of tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato slices, and any other desired toppings. Place the top bun on the burger.
  7. Serve the tzatziki Greek-style burgers immediately and enjoy!
